Quick Fix: iPhone Mirroring Not Working on macOS Sequoia

The latest versions of Apple’s operating systems, iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia, introduce a wide range of new features and enhancements. However, some users have reported issues with iPhone mirroring not working on Mac.

Fixing iPhone Mirroring Issues on Mac

  • delete the folder ~/Library/Containers/iPhone Mirroring on your Mac
  • Reset iPhone access in the iPhone Mirroring app on your MacBook
  • Remove your Mac from the iPhone Mirroring list on your iPhone
  • If you see the message “iPhone Mirroring is not available in your country or region”, you’ll have to wait. EU users are much less likely to get iPhone Mirroring and Apple Intelligence anytime soon.

First, make sure your iPhone and MacBook meet the requirements below.

  • Mac with Apple Silicon or Apple T2 Security Chip
  • MacBook running macOS Sequoia 15
  • iPhone with iOS 18
  • iPhone and Mac signed into the same Apple account with two-factor authentication enabled
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled on both devices
  • iPhone is locked, near the Mac, and optionally charging with StandBy mode
  • Personal Hotspot turned off
  • Mac is not sharing its internet connection, nor using AirPlay or Sidecar

If your iPhone and Mac do not meet the minimum requirements, you won’t be able to use iPhone Mirroring. However, if they do meet the requirements, check out the fixes below to resolve any iPhone Mirroring issues on your iPhone or MacBook.

1. Delete iPhone Mirroring Folder on Mac

  • Open Finder
  • In Finder, at the top menu bar, click Go.
  • From the drop-down menu, select Go to Folder
  • In the dialog box that appears, type or paste this path: ~/Library/Containers/
  • Then click Go
  • Inside the Containers folder, locate the folder named iPhone Mirroring and delete it.
  • Now, try connecting again.

2. Reset iPhone Access on Mac

  • Open iPhone Mirroring app on Mac
  • choose iPhone Mirroring from the menu bar
  • Click Settings
  • Click ‘Reset iPhone Access

3. Remove Your Mac from the iPhone Mirroring List

  • Go to iPhone Settings > General > AirPlay & Continuity > iPhone Mirroring
  • Swipe left on the name of your Mac
  • Tap Delete
  • Restart your iPhone and Mac

4. Other Fixes You can try

  • Unlock and lock your iPhone again
  • Restart iPhone Mirroring app
  • Disable VPN
  • Avoid using the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your iPhone and MacBook for other activities, such as streaming audio or video.
