YouTube has recently launched a new feature called “Shorts” where you can create short videos to share on your YouTube channel. The idea behind these videos is to provide shorter and snappier content that can be consumed quickly by mobile users.
Google confirmed that YouTube Shorts generated over 30 billion views in Q1 of 2022 which is four times higher than it was in the first quarter of 2021. It’s clearly seen that short videos are dominating social media. Not just social media, recently, short videos start appearing in Google search results. Considering the trend, it seems short videos will be a ‘must’ content type for a successful content marketing strategy.
Using YouTube Shorts, you can engage your audience with a higher volume of videos as compared to long videos. Also, short videos tend to be more shareable.
Apart from YouTube, you can also showcase your YouTube Shorts on your website or blogging platform like Medium. But the question is ‘How do I embed my YouTube Shorts into my blog or website?’ Because YouTube Shorts don’t have an embed code option in the Share button.
Here we are going to share how you can easily embed YouTube Shorts on your website without any 3rd party software or widgets. This method works on any website including WordPress sites without need of any page builder.
Let’s get started!
Embed YouTube Shorts on Your Website
- Copy YouTube Shorts link and open it from a browser on a Laptop or PC. Now, you can see YouTube Shorts video playing.
- Since YouTube Shorts share button doesn’t have an option to copy embed code like normal YouTube videos, it requires some more steps to embed YouTube Shorts on your website.
- Right-click on the YouTube Shorts video and you’ll see an option to copy embed code like in the below screenshot.
- Now, paste this code into your website wherever you want to embed this video. This will allow viewers to watch your video directly on your page.
Tip: Use a good looking video thumbnail for your short video because the embeded YouTube Shorts video will not autoplay on your website, instead, it will show a thumbnail with the Play button.
Here is an example showing our YouTube Shorts video embeded using the above method.
Using above steps you can embed your YouTube Shorts video into your site easily in just less than a minute.
Just wanted to give another thanks. Like others have said, it’s hard to find help without downloading another plugin! I love how you can easily change the size in the code too. I found 360×640 to be perfect.
Thanks man. Easy and straightforward. No extra plugin needed
SO HELPFUL! I watched like ten tutorials and all of them wanted me to use a paid app.
